Default Could Use Some Help Identifying a Wire Under Dash

Was working on putting in a new tilt column today. Putting everything back I noted that there was a brown wire that was not connected. There is an end on it for a spade. It comes from the same harness as the harmonica connector does. I am not sure that it was connected before.

Looking at the wiring diagram, it could be for the radio capacitor? Don't know why this is not there on my car if this is true. Of course the PO did some strange things, so this is possible.

Anyone have thoughts?

Yep, it's the radio capacitor on the steering column.

I think that question is asked by every owner who has ever messed with his steering column.

Sorry for not getting back here sooner. I was on a business trip and then was catching up.

Thank you for the replies. Not that I doubted you, but I can independently confirm that everything works after putting it all back (besides the missing capacitor for now).

One thing that I can mention semi-related for those who replace their column with a new ignition switch is that the reproduction switches do not seem to be slotted by enough to adjust properly. I had to open the slots by another 3/16" or so to adjust down far enough. This seems to be a common problem.

Thanks again folks.
