Just take a look at the Mecum Monterey auction results for the Ed Foss low mileage Corvette collection. Many sold in six figures. There was a '72 convertible with 4 miles on it that sold for $195,000. It even had an automatic, only 270 hp and it was not black or red!

base convertible.... $5,765.50. / 5,474 produced(14.6%)
aux hard top...........$267. / 2,612 produced(7%)
w/vinyl...............$329. / 367 produced(1%)
It hasn't been titled yet, so it is essentially a leftover '74! That would be a pretty big deduction from sticker price. After the dealer "preps" it, and it passes state inspection, probably should be able to grab it for under $5k!
Just kidding, like anything else, willing buyer-willing seller. Tough call. To me, I would want to drive it, a lot! And if it has been sitting in a showroom for 42 years, I would expect to have a lot of driveability problems. Depending on options, I wouldn't want it if I had to pay any more than $25k for it. And White with tan interior? I would not be very excited about.
For others, who would want it as a show piece, or to look at or to preserve as is...probably worth a lot more to them.

Update on the car.. It is a small block car with automatic but...
It has AC, power windows, steering, brakes and several other options. I received 3 pics from my friend and it looks stunning.. Car is running, headlights come up etc.. Seems to have been maintained. My friend however decided to pass on it. I just e-mailed him what the asking price was.. Maybe I will buy it but I might have to find a NCRS judge to come with me to look at the car to make sure it is indeed all stock.. Build sheet is there and perfect condition.
Just heard back on why my friend passed on it.. Mileage was 2000 and not 50 as he was told..
Asking price $35k

Wow, very nice! Just brought back memories of shopping for a new car in the 70's with my big sister when I was 10. A white with red interior convertible in the showroom had my attention the whole time she was looking at a Monte Carlo. I remember not liking the big "lumpy rubber things" on the bumper!
Here's a thought--if it has never been titled and owned by a previous dealer, when does the warranty start? Wouldn't that be absolutely awesome if it came with a factory warranty!!??
Also, I think it is a '75 which explains a little more why po wanted to keep it, could have been the last convertible Corvette. See km/h on speedo.

As optioned, My trusty Corvette DNA app comes up with $33,550 for show condition and $24,750 for excellent with less than 15k miles. An article from Vette magazine from 2013 shows it valued at $36.3k show-ready and $30.3k for good. I guess it depends what you want to pay for it. Maybe it is the last convertible to roll off the assembly line in 1975. That would be pretty cool to own!

An article from Vette magazine from 2013 shows it valued at $36.3k show-ready and $30.3k for good. I guess it depends what you want to pay for it. Maybe it is the last convertible to roll off the assembly line in 1975. That would be pretty cool to own!

Value depends on what the selling venue is. At one of the big name auctions, after the auction company thoroughly boozes up the bidders, some stupid drunks can throw out bids that will amaze. Add in the 10% buyer's fee and many new owners experience a serious migraine headache after they sober up and realize what they paid.

Personally if you didnt mind the price make a DD out of it and pile on the miles....new cars are generic and boring why not drive a "new" C3 instead?

Street Side Classic Cars in Lutz, Florida just bought it and it is now on EBAY for $43995.00. You snooze you loose!!! Sometimes when you seek a value on a car your interested in buying, alerting everyone on the forum may not be a good idea.

That'll be fun to follow. I think that's a crazy asking price, but you can ask whatever you want. Hard to value a car like this. I don't think the "last of convertible" price boom ever materialized for the 75s but you certainly won't find a nicer and more original one. Nice museum piece.

I doubt that it will bring $44k on Ebay... It would bring that much or more at one of the big auctions but the fees there are insane.. They are trying to make a quick $10k here.. Don't think that it will sell for much more than about 39k or so on Ebay.. Maybe I will be proven wrong..
