Default 69 vert deck lid

Does anyone have a pic of decklid mechanism restored? What color are the parts? Thanks

I too could use this. I have my car back, the shop took it apart and I know it was all original under the vert decklid. it is only partially re-assembled with a box of parts for me to put back on.

Here is an original one. The top levers and cables were on the car when painted. The lower pivot and rods were added after painting.

This one is a 68. It is little easier to see in white and the paint has stuck much better.

So it looks like the guts are painted a silver/metal, not the car color. Awesome

I do not believe so. I think what they are saying it is sprayed the body color. Except for the few pieces that were added later that were natural or like the bumper bracket that I believe we're black? I seem to remember mine like this, except I never took pics.

So all the guts are the same as the body color? Seems like that would be bland

All, except the rods and clips, plus the rubber stop brackets. This is what I remember, but I again have no pics of mine. I actually wanted the shop to leave the underside of my lid alone as it was original paint, but they took it upon themselves to restore it also.
Argh........

Well that sucks. Now that leaves me with a decision to paint it the same color or change it.

I know this is an old post and Im sorry but the lower half of my mechanism was missing and i'm trying to put it all back together to make it work. do both of these levers pull forward? or does the one on the right (that releases the top pins) push back? the reason I ask is that mine will Only push back. I've searched the internet for a video showing how it's supposed to operate but there are absolutely none posted that I can find. Anyway you could send me a video of how the levers work??? Thank you

scotish

They both pull forward.

Make sure the the circled tab on the handle is to the side of the channel that forms the base and not behind it as this will prevent it from moving forward.

Thank you! That tab is blocking it from moving forward on mine.
