Default C-3 leather care

Hello everyone, I just purchased my first corvette ever. It's a 1980 L82 with the blue interior. The leather is in fair condition and would like to keep it that way. What would you recommend for protection and cleaning? Also, is this Corinthian leather? Thank you

Most any of the better quality brands will give good results, find something with the price and sheen you like and stick with it.

For cleaning older leather seats that are actually dirty, I like Meguiars leather cleaner (D181 but that's the large bottles, G18516 leather and vinyl cleaner is the OTC equivalent I believe) or Adams leather & interior cleaner (or diluted all-purpose cleaner 10:1 or so) applied to a MF towel and wiped. Spot cleaning with a med-soft brush where required. Test for colour fastness of course.

Try not to get them too wet when cleaning

For mild/light cleaning, I like Mequires cleaner/condition in the goldline creme version or the Adams leather conditioner, also a creme. I have tried Autoglym, OPT and CG leather conditioners but go back to Adams/Meguiars.

Big thing is to clean only if/when actually needed and condition (lightly) right after cleaning. Then an interior detailer for maintenance will likely get you through the season.

There is a detailing / car care forum on the site too if your OCD can take it.

Default Thank you

Thank you very much. A few friends have told me to buy griots for the leather but wanted to ask some seasoned Vette owners since this is my first one.

Lexol is a great product. They make both a cleaner (usually found in an orange bottle) and a conditioner (brown bottle). I have used Lexol for years on my leather car interior and leather furniture. I have had excellent results. Keeps the leather soft without leaving a greasy/oily film.
