Default Period Correct picture thread

This thread is intended to show what was/would have been done to your year Corvette within the first month of ownership from the dealer show room.

Being 16 yrs old when my '71 was new, I have fond memories of what they were like new, and the changes people made to them. Let's be honest, most all were modified/personalized to some degree.

Here are some examples of mods that were/would have been done in my year-

New tires/wheels
Chrome engine dress up items
New cam lifters
New intake and carb
Side pipes
8 track
Body mods/paint schemes
Interior upholstery (rolled and pleated/diamond tucked/velour)

I'm a fan of "period correct" cars..here's a pic of my '71

This wasn't within the first month, but it did occur early in the car's life.

Photo of my 1971 taken in 1978.

But Stan, aren't you one of those terrible NCRS guys that won't touch a car that has been altered?

My 1978 in 2012 after being rolled out of a dilapidated garage where it had sat for 8 years. Somebody modified it by changing the color from black to purple. Dying the interior to oyster from beige Putting pinstripes on it and changing the wheels.

The car has now been brought back to it's original configuration when it left the factory; to include the AM/FM 8 track.
