Default Need help with motor build.... AGH..

So here is the back story. I hired a guy to do a motor swap, transmission swap, and upgrade the suspension, exhaust etc. Well long story short it all went to hell. He lost a ton of parts, and left with a ton of my money. I nearly gave up on the project half a dozen or more times over the past 15 years because of this. Well I finally said screw it, and am going to finish the project.

Here is a link to the intial build. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...of-photos.html

Well long story short, the computer from this old style EFI system seems to be one of the missing parts. I am not super inclined to spend big dollars on another EFI system, I just want to get the car finished and have it looking nice. I am leaning toward a Carb setup. What would you recommend that would fit under the stock hood? On the 79 there was a bit of a rise there.

I am thinking the 800 CFM edelbrock performer RPM combo. I don't think the air gaps will fit. Is the difference massive?

Thanks,
J

Also, the engine was supposed to provide about 450-475 hp at the crank, if it even runs and doesn't require a complete rebuild.

This is what I have under a stock 81 hood. It was on the car when I bought it. Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, Holley Street Avenger 770 carb. I haven't used the play-doh method to see how much room there is since the hood was closing when I got it. The block is a 76 with iron heads and the motor mounts appear to be a stock type, so I don't think it would have increased/decreased the height any. I cant offer any input on the performance differences on the intakes. Somebody else will chime in.
