I don't see why not. I used them 194s on my 1974 side markers and license plate lights. They plugged right in they just won't dim for the cluster

I changed my gauge faces to white, and so put in green LEDs......looks wonderful, can actually SEE the panel at night....not that I drive much as night anyway.....
I've used LED's throughout my car. Other than "underloading" the blinker relay, it has been fun to get clear, crisp light on all the gauges and exterior lights.
thanks for all the input everyone. I know the original paint for the background is blue, does repainting that white improve the brightness? Or does the blue work just fine?
I changed all mine and can confirm that white LED's appear blueish, but is quite bright and definitely better than stock. Probably need to repaint the backing to white or whatever color you want them to appear.

do they look real blue or just have a blue tint to them?
Changed all the dash lights on my 68 convert to white LED. What a big difference......plus they will not burn out in my lifetime. Getting behind the dash to change a bulb is a PIA.
I just had my center gauge cluster out to install head unit, wish I would have had my bulbs to do it then
I have yet to take the speedo/tach cluster out though...
The speedo part of the dash is even more fun to work on. The wiring harness gets in the way of pressing the dash panel back into the proper place. Carefully examine exactly where the bundled wires go in relation to the steering column and gauge pods, take photos, etc. otherwise the panel will not go back in. Don't ask how I know this.

Yes, it does improve the brightness. I painted my housings white w/white LEDs; looks great. One problem--I forgot to paint the wiper lamp housing so it shows blue at night.
I had to use regular bulbs for the directional indicators (ground return for the side markers).
I bought a bunch of the leds that fit the peanut socket, red, purple/pink, green, I haven't gotten to that part of this build,
Has anyone used a color other than white?

I did the white gauges too and put in white lights. So they look light blue. If I were to do it over I would paint the housings white and go with a black light led. It would make the white gauges glow and the orange needles look really bright
