Default Kelsey Manufactured Goodyear Tires

Went to purchase a set of raised white letter Goodyear tires for a project that I am working on and got a real taste of sticker shock... Especially since I need to purchase another three sets over the next year.

I purchased a set of these about three years for @$180.00 a tire... From what I have been able to research, the current price is @$270.00 a tire.

Is there a current source for these tires (that I am overlooking) that offers them for less than $270.00? Any help would be appreciated!

Regards,

Stan Falenski

That's not bad, the Goodyear Radial GT and Eagle GT are even more expensive for the late C3s. Not much market, expensive to reproduce, so supply/demand.

Yep, that's the going rate. Kelsey manufacturers them, if you see them being sold elsewhere they still originated from Kelsey.

Sometimes the Driveline or the C3 Forum will have a used set for sale that were used for judging.

That's what I was afraid of.

I am pretty good at doing due diligence when it comes to parts purchases, but wanted some confirmation that I hadn't overlooked an obvious source.

I can understand a price increase, but still... $180 to $270 in three years.

Appreciate the feedback though.

Regards,

Stan

I have a 1969 that came with the Goodyear Speedway Wide Tread F70/15 Whiteline tires. I called Goodyear and they referred me to Kelsey Tires, which is located in Camdentown, Missouri. Kelsey told me that they bought the license agreement from Goodyear to manufacture new tires for my 69, and that the tires are manufactured in either Indiana or Pennsylvania. The cost is $270 per tire, plus shipping. I would like to know if anyone out there has actually purchased these tires or have any advice or information about them? Coker and Diamondback both have whiteline tires that they have made using BFG Radial T/A, shaved off the sidewalls, then applied the whiteline, they want around $250 each plus shipping for them.

I have them on my 72 LT-1. The biggest issue I have with them is that they flat spot after sitting for a few days. I bought some "Flatstoppers" from Quanta which has helped quiet a bit but they are a PIA if you drive your car regularly. I am considering replacing them with modern radials soon and might be willing to sell the tires and Flatspotters. The tires have around 1,500miles on them and are perfect, but they are 6 years old.

dan1495 - so if your tires are the whitelines and you are thinking of selling I would be interested. How much are asking for them?

dan1495, I am needing to get tires soon as possible. Have you decided if you want to sell your tires? Don't mean to rush you, but I ready to purchase now.

The guys that race in the FAST class (Factory Appearing Stock Tire) use these tires, and use lots of these tires. I don't know if they do group purchases or have some kind of discount because they buy so many, but it would be worth looking into.

Dan1495, been thinking about it, what are you going to ask for the RWT tires? I might still be interested.

Redhook98, they are not really what I was looking for, but if the price is right, yea maybe. Also, how old are they? Are they original 30-year old tires or are they reproductions?
