Default C3 rear emblem

Does anyone know how to remove/replace the "corvette" emblem from the rear of a "79 without removing the bumper?
Thanks

well its been along time ,but if I remember right there is a metal plate that you have to remove I think that plate has two screws that it sits on the back of the frame ,then you can get to the small nuts that hold on the emblem, hope this helps

When I was looking at how it is for my '77 there's a reinforcement piece blocking the name emblem from the back. I chose not to remove it and just glued it in.
If yours has the same thing under there I think it only needs 4 bolts removed, 2 seen from underneath the car facing front, and one each just inside the sides facing down. Maybe...

Here's that part seen in the middle of this diagram:

Thanks, the assembly manual shows the triangular metal plate but I didn't see where the bolts are to remove it. It looks like that's the only way to get the emblem off.

I think you can reach up there and feel the small bolts that hold it on ,I dont think I put mine back on after I put on a new emblem
