I'm always reluctant to look at a car for someone else. We might have different opinions or areas of concern. Higher a professional inspector. They're usually around $350. ( cheaper than a plane ticket ). They don't have any emotion about the car and if they have previous experience with Corvettes they will know what to look for. Best money I ever spent before buying a car long-distance.
I'm sure that someone on this Forum can refer you to a qualified inspector.
Good luck, Tim
The soft top appears to be vinyl, not canvas. Is that red overspray on the soft top frame, or just a reflection? Resale Red? As always, the big question is birdcage rust. It does look as though someone has given this car some TLC.
Paint was originally Elkhart Green, the fuel line problem mentioned is because it is a rubber hose to the carb. Lots of non original stuff under the hood, poorly aligned trim below front bumper.I would either fly to ORD and go look or get someone with knowledge to do so. They have a dealership near me and many of their cars look far better in the pictures than in person. Still a nice looking car from what I can see. If solid and you are just looking for a driver this might be worth looking at in the low $20s. Good luck.

Most noticible thing in the ad is the typical color change from Green to Resale Red. (I dont know how many black cars Ive inspected that used to be Green). Text says numbers match- verify this! That matters re: $. Underhood detail stuff is easily addressed. Paint looks good but you have to look closely in person, ditto on the frame, got look in person up close. Interior seems OK.
The color change should be a deduction, but this color is much easier to sell. Need more info to decide if price is too high or not, but at first blush I dont think the asking price is out of line from a retailer selling a red air conditioned roadster.

Reason: clarify NM detail in text
Stingray emblem was put on by someone with vertigo other than that looks overall nice. So its not orig # match see if he will wiggle on price

Id want to get it up on a lift and ck everything out underneath for sure on any old car.
KNow theres lots of these out there so take your time.
Which numbers match?
Not trim tag, exhaust manifolds, water pump, etc.
