Default difference between a q jet automatic and manual?

What is the difference between a q jet numbered as for automatics vrs a q jet numbered for a manual?

Jets? ect??

and can you interchange the two or modify one to use for the other?

I got a q jet for an automatic that I want to use on a 454 manual.

Much thanks and Happy Fourth of July!!!

I'm not entirely sure in relation to the numbers on the actual carb (especially on a corvette), but from my older Pontiac's and Oldmobiles, normally an carb for an automatic is often jetted a bit leaner.

Depending on application / maker, some other differences would be AT carb will sometimes have an extra vacuum port for the vacuum modulator and sometimes an idle compensator. It will also usually have extra linkage for the kick-down for the auto trans / passing gear.

Normally (only from my experience), re-jetting (if needed) is the only "real thing" that anyone normally does when using an AT carb on a manual trans car, so using it on your car normally wouldn't be a big deal.

In your case / the case of a Corvette owner, If you may be looking for a particular carb number - auto vs manual.....? I'm not sure at all of how they are actually numbered so I really can't help there.. but "functionally" , using it normally does not present a problem.

No problem. I normally have manual transmissions on my "play cars" / older cars , I may be forgetting a thing or 2, but I'm sure others will chime in. (especially with anything "corvette related").

Have a great 4th !
