73 / 4 Speed Shift Console Resto ???
Does anyone know for sure if after removing the original wood grain material on the C3 console, it will have the same surface texture as the standard black console, after all the adhesive material is removed? Want to restore one back to black if this is the case. Won't bother going thru the process if the surface isn't the same.
If someone already did this, pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Yes... the shifter plate was the same with or without the wood trim. When you remove the wood there will be a grain surface under it.
