Everest auto repair on state street is very honest. You could ask them about fiberglass, maybe they can point you in the right direction. My friends own the meineke next to the 33rd and state movie theatre. Just a few doors north.. they also are very honest and might know someone....atleast its a start. Ive moved out of town or I would ask them myself
Mine was painted at the Nate Wade Subaru body shop in SLC and I was very happy. If you go talk to Curtis Watkins.
Look at my build thread and at the photos of the paint job.
I suppose Nate Wade can do a good job, when we were hit from behind while stopped for a left turn they did a good job with our 1 year old car.
BUT...
When I was later hit in my pickup by someone who spun out and lost control, they told the insurance company that my pickup was in poor condition.
That was definitely not true:
1. they claimed that the serpentine belt was old, I had replaced it 2 months earlier.
2. they claimed that the engine was in bad shape, again, not true. No blowby, good compression across all 8, good oil pressure and no leaking.
3. they claimed that the clutch was worn. Again, not true, I had replaced it earlier in the year along with the AC compressor.
The body was straight and rust free prior to the accident and the tires only had a few thousand miles on them, but I think Nate Wade was doing favors for the insurance company, giving an out rather than having to pay for the repairs.
I refuse to go to Nate Wade again.

I had brought my car to the subaru place closer to downtown for an insurance claim. They misssed alot of the problems that were obvious and wanted a huge amount for the repant of the hood only, thats when I went to everest and they took care of everything and gave me a real good price on the windshield rust I wanted repaired that wasnt part of the claim while i was there. And it wS done in 10 days

Good information. I'll be needing some body work before long. I'm still working on mechanical stuff. I've gone down to the frame and now it's just drive train, suspension and the body from the firewall back. I just finished with the door hinges and plan to put the doors back soon, but right now I'm working on the heater box and steering column.
Mine doesn't have rust (thankfully) but it sat in a barn for 25 years so all of the rubber parts were dried out and I'm doing just about everything on it... and thoroughly enjoying the process. I even bought a parts car, but there isn't much left of value now that I've stripped off what I need.
