Newby owner. Had a 61 back in the 60's and have just bought a 78. Wanting to know how to remove the panel at the back of the cargo area where the speakers are mounted. Tried several searches but probably not using the correct terms.

I'm not sure which panel you are referring to. The factory used two grilles mounted in the corners of the rear cargo area. They are attached with four interior screws.
Yeh, pretty obvious now. My old eyes weren't seeing the screws originally, thought that back panel was all one piece going across. Can see the speakers thru the grill and they say Kenwood on them so probably after market. Thanks for the pictures & quick response,
