73 Power Steering control Valve End Cap Letter???
Doing some research for myself. Trying to verify the correct power steering control valve end cap " dust cover" letter that is stamped on it. The 73-74 JG says it should be a 'C'. However, some original 73 owners say they have an 'X' on theirs. I've read that the c on the cap means that it was serviced, and that the early c3's thru 73 should have the X, and later cars have the c stamped on the cap.
My April 73 has a c on it, but I can't be sure it's never been serviced.
Any comments from original 73 owners would be greatly appreciated. Please include your car's build date.
Below is a picture of a 'C' cap from Willcox.
Thanks,
Jimmy

This is photo of the one on my 73. I want to make sure I have the correct dust cover on my car, and one that is in better condition.

My original 73 built in Dec. 1972 has the X on the cap.
This is the best photo I have of it.

Also something I noticed is that my later car has the hose shield and yours doesn't. Wondering if that was also a change on the later cars with a C cap??

never had one. I noticed that some of the vendors have the shields
and others don't.
