Frame Rail Heat Shield?

Default Frame Rail Heat Shield?
As I am looking to buy my #2,3 body mounts, I have seen what is titled as a frame rail heat shield by the number 2 mount. I am unfamiliar with these, are they stock equipment? What do they do? Are they worth putting on, and if so, how are they mounted? Are they welded? Do they work? Any information or insight would be great. Thanks guys!

Sorry '68 Coupe 327/4spd doing a frame off. Not striving for originality but practical driver.

I've looked in the AIM for my 68 and can't find the shield that you are referring to. I did find it in my 69 AIM though. Just a quick look at several vendors and I see it listed as a 69-75 part.
