Default Looking for a suspension kit for a 75.

I'm starting work on my 75. It needs front and rear 'everything'. Springs, bushings, control rods etc... The suspension is pretty tired.

I saw a kit at Ecklers, but not sure how complete it would be.

I would hit up Willcox tell them what you need and they can get you there some suspension parts sold are not as good as others and I trust Willcox....

Plus they will likely have the best price...

I was kinda concerned about quality. I forgot what it was like building my 63.

I agree with Bats, I have used Wilcox multiple times now for different things and it has always been top of the line quality, Definetly worth a try in my opinion

Do I want a 7 or 9 leaf spring? And anyone have an opinion on whether the urethane has any real advantage. This is one of several cars and won't likely get much use.

I put a composite transverse spring on my 70 in 2004 and like the way it has worked out. I had Bair rebuild my control arms. I purchased most parts from Muskegon Brake and was happy with them too. I rebuilt everything under my car. I used poly for everything except the control arm bushings. I changed to gas shocks. I also went with 460 lb coil springs. I have heard a lot of good things about Van Steel also but didn't use them. I don't think you can go wrong with Muskegon, Van Steel or Bair.

How do you feel about the poly bushings?

For replacing worn components such as bushings, I don't think you'll do better than Willcox. For a complete suspension package that works well as a system, have a look at Vette Brakes. VBandP dot com

Depending on the type of driving that you want to do, an upgraded suspension goes a long way.

Poly bushing and vettebrakes,

The simple fact is some poly parts are junk some last a very long time, one has to find the good poly, I used special poly mounts that replace the aluminum mounts, mine are the correct size.

I used to believe that vettebrakes was top shelf,
My 68 donor chassis I bought was rebuilt with the VB front and rear transverse upgrade package and then the chassis was left to set a spell, not many of the poly bushing are toast, yes, brand new bushing are all cracked and nasty only from sitting.
I feel the bushing were bad from the start.

When I hit up VB about it as while I do not expect any part to last forever I did expect a new part to still be good, I knew a long shot was them giving me free replacements but they didn't care, pretty much blew it off that is how their parts are and that they would be happy to sell me replacement parts at full price.

issue number two VB rear sway bars do not mount like stock at the ends and according to people on this forum who I view as experts on suspension only the stock factory rear sway bar end mounts will work correctly.

VB lost any future business from me.

I've had no issues in the 12 years or so that I've had them. Before I installed the poly bushings I was told they'd squeak a lot. I greased them according to the instructions and have never had a squeak. Another thing I did that I'd recommend is switching to stainless steel brakes. I got mine from Muskegon Brake and have had no issues with my brakes since then.

Bair's was very good to work with and turnaround was fast.

What I cant handle with rubber fuel line, bushing whatever, they crack the little small lines so darn fast here, fuel line does it so quickly and I have tried several different types and brands, is "rubber" not made the same as it was 40 years ago?

As I posted I have to replace a lot of the poly stuff anyway and have no problem using rubber I just want it to look good for more than a year or two....
