Anyone know who has the best deal on for the complete caliper rebuilt kit for the 75'? I have the stainless steel sleeve calipers and I want to separate them, replace all the seals as well as pistons.
I want to stay with the lip seals and what I'm finding online is more of the "o ring" conversions.
I was thinking the Carlisle even might have a 10% off deal but found out I can't make it this year.
I bought mine through my FLAPS - friendly local auto parts store. The ran about 15 bucks each. It was handy to get them there cuz when I messed one up it was a next day replacement by going to town. I would recommend getting the tool available online. Makes the job so easy my 12 year old with limited mechanical experience could do it. GLWYR. Check out my build thread for lots of pix and encourage you to do the same!
This is the complete o ring kit, but I'm looking for the lip seal kit.
BrcmpblThanks for the reply, but that's not the complete kit, it doesn't include the pistons and seals between the caliper halves.
Andy TuttleNot the complete kit, I consider that a seal kit, but thanks for the reply. Also thanks for the mention of your rebuilt thread, I'll take a look.

The only seals between the halves are the little rubber o-rings. The kits have those.
You can buy bleeders and pistons separately from the same place. You don't need much more to do a lip seal rebuild, it's a pretty straight forward job.
Brcmpbl Thanks again for the reply. I know you can purchase the guide pins, seals, pistons, clips etc separately but it ends up being a higher price. I was hoping to get a complete kit as shown in the imagine.
I did manage to find one kit but I've never heard of the vendor before, I was hoping members on this forum could share there experience, but maybe everyone's converting to the seal kits.
I understand wanting to replace all the parts - you only want to do the job once. Have you had the calipers apart yet, though? Often all you'll need is new seals, and I usually replace the pad pin cotter pins. The pistons and springs will often be totally fine to reuse, provided there's no major pitting.
Brcmpbl Yes, I had all 4 calipers apart since the car sat for 26 years and replaced all the seals. The pistons were in bad shape and the brake fluid turned to jelly, but I thought if I cleaned up the pistons and put in new complete seals with new dot 5 fluid I would be good to go. In the end, I had a couple problems with two calipers having constant leakage problems so I've decided to start from scratch as that's what I should have done the first time.
I've had two, very old calipers, start leaking in the past year. One was an original caliper, no hope for a rebuild. I replaced it with an AA caliper for about $48. The other was a SS from Vette Brakes over 30 years ago. I rebuilt it, lip seal, new Pistons for about $59. My point in all of this is, it's cheaper and less labor to just replace the caliper.
I finally just washed my hands with the stock rear calipers. Rotor runout was within limits, calipers were sleeved and rebuilt units. They leaked. I bought seal kits rebuilt them, twice! They would be fine for a month or 2. Then start leaking. Again. I ponied up and bought wilwood aluminum calipers. They bolt right in place of the factory calipers. Very nice looking, and although I just completed the installation and bedded the pads. So far all is well. Time will tell. I have heard if the original unit was corroded badly, then sleeved, fluid will leak past the sleeve, not necessarily the seal/ sleeve. I have better things to do then fix leaking brakes. Im still running the stock fronts, but not for much longer. Im upgrading to a larger front wilwood kit.
