Is there a concern about your side pipes throwing too much heat on the vinyl wrap?
The car looks stunning, by the way!!
I will be using burn guard plates over the side pipes to prevent burning legs. That will provide a shield between the pipe and the car as well which should help minimize the heat. Good question though, very good.
Question:
The red pin stripe on the door, is it laid down as a single straight stripe and curve it around (like they would have done in the "old days") or would they have to cut that shape out of the vinyl?
Thanks
M
Old school application. The vinyl stretches so with care and attention you can get it to lay down as a consistent width stripe, even around the curves.
Did they wrap the rockers, inner doors and pillars etc.?
No. Wrap was for external parts only. They can wrap those parts, I just didn't need them wrapped. Remember vinyl adds some thickness, need to make sure there is not inference on close tolerance parts.

Agreed - I have had vinyl stripes on my car for several years and they still look new. If the car doesn't see a lot of sunlight the wrap material should last a long time.
so if that was in paint what would have been the cost?
Having my car painted in base white gloss to the standards of the corvette was quoted at $9-$10 K. With masking, lining, painting to match this car he wasn't sure but thought it would be well over $15K. I had the base coat done for $4,500, wrap is $3,500, $8K invested in the paint scheme. I had some additional work done on mine for the custom nose and for the custom rear, so my final figures were higher but you get the idea.

Simply amazing!! Congratulations on your project those wheels! Wow
The wheels are American Racing Hurricane fifteen spoke wheels, 15 X 10" carrying Mickey Thompson rubber, 295/50-15. Wheels were rough when I bought them but I got them restored by Detroit Vintage Wheels and they did a great job. I may use 8-1/2" on the front eventually, still have that to work out before it sees any miles on the road, track, etc.
