Having some issues installing this window seal. All the clips just don't line up. Is this a thing with these seals and they are just difficult to put in? It also doesn't have the correct upper sweep motion to get the last hole to line up to put the screw in.
I'm not comfortable just applying more force than I have this far unless that's how it is supposed to be done.
Dread, these things are a BITCH!
I found that you can get a combination of two at the time to pop in. Whichever two, then try to work out the rest. The holes and pins do not line up on any of the aftermarket bits I tried. Ended up with a combo of egging out holes, filing or squeezing the pins, and drilling new holes and new tiny stainless screws to hold them in place. They certainly should allow for inconsistencies when they make these damn things...
I went through this a few years back. Turns out there are different levels of quality for these things. Willcox has a higher price version that works a lot better. You wouldn't notice if you didn't look for them. Otherwise, I think you're stuck doing one of the suggestions above.
These are the ones. "Reproduction" is the word they use to differentiate them.
You'll be sorry if you use those. The better ones have a felt wiper, those have rubber, it grips the window too much and makes it hard to roll up.. I plan to switch to the better felt style.
