Speed Control / Cruise Control
I'm just trying to get some "extra" information together and wanted to know when Cruise Control became an available option on the C3 Vette. The Black Book states that 1977 was the first year for the K30 option (cruise) but I thought I'd seen earlier years with it also. If 1977 was the first year for "factory" installed cruise, has anybody installed it on 1968-1976 on their own?

1977 for factory cruise. It's possible earlier cars were retrofitted with cruise. I can recall when generic aftermarket packages were available. I bought one from Sears and installed it on a 68 Impala back in the day.

I bought everything for a 77 and put it on my76. the wiring harness needed the hole drilled in the firwall, pulled the entire dash out to do that, extra switch on the brake peddlle, vacumm hook up on manifold, servo mounts, and cable from servo to transducrer(one year only and can't find used or new) cr linkage, etc. changing over to part of a 80 model, don't need the 77 cable, mounts on top of the manifold. a lot of work and really don't use it much unless I'm on a Interstate hwy.
