Default And yet another back space question.

I am going to put torq thrusts on my 72. I am going with 15x7 in the front and the rear will have 15x8. Now they are advertised at having a 3.75 back spacing. I know stock is 4 inches. Where will the tires sit in relation to the wheelwell lip. And yes I did a search. And I want to stick with the 15's.

Stock is 15x8 with 4" back spacing on all four corners.

The rear 15x8 with 3.75" backspacing will stick out 1/4" more than stock. Same as mine.
The front 15x7 with 3.75" backspacing will be 1/4" further in than stock. 1/2" in compared to mine.

IMHO, go with 15x8 on all four corners. Makes life easier.

Here are some pics of my car. 15x8 American Racing AR-136 with 3.75" backspacing on all four corners. 255/60R15 tires. Tried to choose pics that showed clearance.

In general, regardless of wheel size, the less BS there is, the more the wheel is pushed outboard.

The wheels all seem to be 3.75 back spacing.

As long as the width is the same.

I see what you mean, but its how you look at it. Some folks want to go with a wider wheel but are concerned by how much the wheel will move outboard of the fender. If a 4" bs on a 9" wide wheel just fits under the fender, then any width wider with the same 4" bs will be further outboard of the fender.
