Default exhaust heat sheild

On the left side exhaust manifold there should be a tin cover so the air cleaner hot air intake can pull hot air into the carb until the engine warms up.Does anyone make a replacement mine was missing when I got my 77 L82.

Thanks,Pete

Corvette Pacifica has it. I saw it at Ecklers in chrome also.

There are two different styles. A single hole above the dump and one with two holes above the dump. The link provided above is the two hole and would be used with A.I.R. provision exhaust manifolds.

Is it okay to remove that shield, is it needed? My 78 had a different air cleaner installed and the tube that goes from this to the air cleaner is gone. Can I just remove this without any negative repercussions?
