I'm kinda confused one which sensor controls the temperature gauge.
Is it the green single wire one above the oil filter or is it the yellow and black wire above the water pump?

82'
On my '81 the temperature sensor is in the left cylinder head connected to a green wire. It is above and between the #1 and #3 spark plugs.
The yellow and black wire and sensor above water pump is for the electric fan.
The sensor above the oil filter is for the oil temperature gauge.
Gauge temp sensor is in left forward side of block under alternator, ECU temp sensor is in front of intake manifold, oil sensor is left rear side of block near fuel filter. I highly recommend you buy yourself a Service Manual. Lots of good information in it as the 82 is a little unique. Good Luck!
On my '81 the temperature sensor for the temperature gauge is in the left cylinder head connected to a green wire with a connector. I have black conduit covering the green wire but this is it between the header tubes.
Oh ok understand now thanks! Lol. So this is what I have for my temperature coolant switch on the front of the intake. Do any of you know where I can get the 2 wire harness (yellow and black wires) for it? For some reason I can only find the single wire one. My harness is starting to show wires.
