Default Hard top/Soft top question

I'm wondering if you guys/gals take the soft top out when you run your hard top? I've had my soft top out before but it's been in there since I put a new top on it. I'm worried that the studs that hold the hard top down will interfere and mess up my soft top. I had my hard top on (with the soft top installed) and put some foam where the studs come through and that worked.
I'm about to put the HT on for the winter (I drive my Vette year round) and want to know what others do. I know it's my choice just asking.

My 74 is still under construction with the Hardtop on the car. It still has the original soft top. I have not removed the soft top on any of the previous C3 Verts I owned when using the Hardtop. And mine were "dd's" at the time. I guess it depends on how much room you need or as you mentioned that you have a new top installed. With the foam in there and a "pillow" on the rear window when down, I don't think you would have too much of a problem with it being stored. I just think it would be more of a PIA taking out and reinstalling the soft top every winter. JMO

Go with what you did before. The hard top will not harm the soft top.

The hard top can damage the paint on your rear deck but there are remedies.

My hard top never hurt my soft top, but I would definitely use a pillow on the rear window

It will be fine leaving your soft top in. Threaded studs will not rub the top.
