The motor is about ready so I am putting some final touches on the car before it arrives. I have been working on this issue for a few months and decided to ask. A little background first so as to avoid a lot of ?. I bought this 81 in pieces and am slowly reassembling it. I searched for a while for a shift cable with bracketry for the TH350 and finally found a set. I installed the cable and brackets per the manual and it doesn't shift through all of the gears. It stops at R. Is there an adjustment to the cable? I actually bought another setup and tried it with the same result. Ideas?
Thx

Its been a long time since I modded mine, not sure I'm being Captain Obvious here but theres a detent in the selector to stop it going into Park until you push the button , sounds like your not getting it past that detent. Does it go to park without the cable on it .
Edit, I just reread your post and you have the gearbox on it(?) , are you sure the selector lever on the box is in the correct corresponding position , if your one off it might be in park in the box but stopped at the R in the selector.
When the box is in Park you cant turn the output shaft.
