1976 windshield washer bottle?
I filled mine up with washer fluid and it leaks. I was looking at it and it appears the filler neck and the jug are separate pieces? If that is correct, is there a seal or gasket that is supposed to seal the place where they connect or are you just supposed to fill it to just below the connection?

Assume it leaks at the junction of bottle jug and the filler neck..? not the water line or pump connection below-underneath? The pump fits into the bottom and is secured with a deep socket on a large hex nut w/washer from the top with neck removed..which is tricky with water bottle bolted in place..
There is no gasket between filler neck and bottle.just fill with washer fluid below the neck connection..and make certain the neck is properly inserted. It goes down and in and is then turned slightly.Jim.

It only leaked when I filled it over where the two pieces were joined. I will be careful not to overfill in the future.
That's good news!.A few months back on my '78..(same washer setup as yours)I replaced the washer pump.I'd already done every bit of brake work and didn't want to remove Vac booster and master cylinder and bleed brakes..again..
It was quite a challenge to get the bolts holding the bottle out blind, disconnect the bump electric and water line..and get the bottle inverted enough to get the socket and long extension into the bottle to unscrew the old pump &install the new one..
The cars went together in a systematic way..and some seemingly small tasks are challenging to do without taking a bunch of stuff off..jim
