Default 1969 Blue Color Question

All of the info I have seen indicates that only code 976 LeMans Blue was available in 1969. What was the code and darker color blue seen on some '69's like those shown on the cover of the NCRS 68-69 CTI Manual and Judging Guide? Thanks

The cover car on the 69 JG is black. The picture is probably tinted blue to give it some contrast for printing.

Well that's what I thought but in all the NCRS pubs that reference the '69 book they indicate "with blue 69's on cover." I'm with you I thought they were black.I guess I was wondering with the extended '69 production did any of the late cars get a blue other than LeMans?

Lm Bue is the only 69 blue form the factory. The publications are mistaken, I have the 4th edition and the cars are black but it has the blue tint to the cover picture.

I think they will be doing a new version soon with color picture like the 70-72 book. Can't wait to see it.

Thanks for clearing it up Ed. Yeah the new books are a nice update.
