Default Clock question

I have the dash out of my 75 to repair the speedometer so while I am in the area I decided to take the center out and try to make the clock work again. To my relief all it needed was a good cleaning and a little silicone oil and it is back to life. The question I have is with the rotating contact arm. When mine contacts the hot contact it will rotate about 40 degrees very rapidly adding spring tension to oscillate the balance wheel. It makes the cycle every 1'45". I can move the rotating contact about 145 degrees manually and it seems to work just as well but with longer cycles. Should I be happy it is working at all or is there something I can adjust to lengthen the cycles?

I know a smart move would be to get a quartz replacement but there is something special about reviving something original.
Thanks, Jerry

Sounds like the proper cycle time. Make sure to sand the contacts on both surfaces for the hot connection. I need to pull dash apart snd do this again.
