When assembling my 355 engine, 20 years ago...I put in a bum camshaft, and it drove me krazy for some ten years, another story, but I finally got around to tearing it down, and to my surprise the Cloyes double roller gears/chain had no wear showing....so I put them back in service.....
and so with a FORD (admittingly) pickup with 5.4 liter overhead cam V8 pickup, the super long chain guides broke apart, and damn nearly ruined the engine.....plastic of course, chain about belonged on a bicycle it was THAT long, and so I can imagine it with TWO cams on each bank...yeh, right.....not in MY car.....
