Default New Exhaust

I ordered a new exhaust system on-line and one of the pipes came in w/ what I thought was damage. When I contacted the vendor they said those were normal tooling marks and the pipe was supposed to be that way to fit the car. The other side was perfectly normal - no deformation at all.

Has anyone else ever seen something like this?

Thanks.

Original Corvette exhaust was somewhat flattened where the pipes went under the differential to provide more ground clearance.

Is that what you are showing?

Yup that is normal. That is why I had a custom system bent up. Mandrel bends and no flattened pipes. If your not running a high HP motor those pipes will work fine. If you are looking for max flow get a custom system bent up.

It's over a wider area than just near the differential and only on one pipe. That's what I thought was weird.

They're 2 1/2" on a mildly built 350. I'm sure they'll be OK - just wondering if it was normal.

Thanks to all.

Both pipes should be flattened in the same area. If not, then something is wrong.
