If your 68 still has it's original rims, then they are 15"x7". The 255/60's can be mounted on the 7" wide rim, but the wider 69 up 15"x8" rally would be my personal preference to use with the 255/60's.

My 74 has 255/60-15's on the front and 275/60-15's on the back.
The back is wider and a little taller but that's the way I like it.
Baby has a new pair of shoes. Cooper Cobra's Front:255/60R15 and 275/60R15's on the back

You like the Coopers better than Goodrocks? I was thinking of trying them.

I have no problem with them.
Well other than, I can't spin the wheels like I used to, the damn tires stick good....now I have to upgrade the rear end to make em spin.
They were cheaper than the BFG's too. Since I only drive the car on very nice days, I will probably never know if they will last as long as BFG's. I had BFG's on my 84 Trans Am back in the day and loved them.

68 and 69 have zero fender flair unlike later models.
245 is largest guaranteed to fit without rubbing on early C3's,
anything larger is a maybe for 68-69.
