I am a new member and have found your information to be very helpful with my 75. I was successful in replacing my power window motor and the windows goes up and down fast like the other window until it stuck in the up position. There is power to the motor and it clicks when you push the switch but the window does not come down. Any thoughts you have will be appreciated.
remove gummed up old grease from window slides, reapply new grease.
verify all guides travel straight without binding, if they do adjust them.
to check for poor gnd which can cause slow motion,
connect jumper cable to window motor housing, connect other end to car frame.
If window speeds up, you have a poor ground going to window motor.
Best fix. run additional ground to window motor from bird cage thru the door.
you may have also driven the window up too far putting it into a bind,
fix and adjust top window travel.
I have done the cleaning and lube, goes up and down fast until it stuck up. Must be in a bind, how do I adjust top window travel?
At the top of the vertical tracks on either side there should be steel travel stops that bolt in through the track. They are rounded to fit the plastic wheel that travels in the tracks. Mine have rubber on them to protect the wheel. I could see a mark on the track that showed me right where they were when I took them apart.
