Default ceramic headers for the "75"

The old girl will have a brand new sound this year and a few more ponies to play with. It took me quite a while but these seem to fit my needs and wallet.

Very nice. Make sure to post pictures, once they are on. Curious if they will install from the top, or need to push up from the bottom.

I did full length headers on my 79 4 speed from the bottom. As i recall, I had to remove the Z bar, a spark plug or 2 and I believe the starter on the passenger side.

I managed to get the new headers in yesterday between other honey do's and a well deserved walk with the dogs. Both sides went in from the top and the passenger side was a breeze while the drivers side was more of a challenge. I started by removing everything that could possibly cause problems except the Z bar. The drivers side would not line up without disconnecting the clutch linkage and re-positioning the down link of the Z bar. I'll have to do some mods to the Z bar for the clutch to work properly but I need to do some research first. The oil filter is 1" or so from the down tubes so I'll do some additional heat shielding even though they are ceramic coated. The passenger side dropped in with only re-positioning the starter wires. The starter is only 1/4" from the down tubes and will need some shielding or maybe a new smaller starter. I am saving the original intermediate pipes in case I ever want to go back to original exhaust or if I sell some day the next owner may not want headers. All in all the swap went well and after more re-routing of the heater hose and gas line the bay will look cleaner and more refined.
I am going to visit a few custom exhaust shops so I can get the new intermediate pipes made but that won't happen until Spring.
Thanks for looking, Jerry
