Default Help diagnosing steering problems.

Hey guys,

I need help diagnosing a steering problem for my 1976 L82 stingray. The steering feels extremely wobbly, and small bumps on the road will turn my steering wheel significantly. Another symptom is that breaking hard will turn my steering wheel left (if I don't hold it straight).

Now I know that my brake calipers cannot be at fault since I replaced my front calipers with new 4 piston Wilwoods (amazing calipers btw). Now the suspects I have are bushings on control arms, tie-rods and power steering cylinder.

Can you guys give me some advice on where to go from here? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Yup, sounds like you are on track. Ball joints, tyrods and steering knuckle should take care of the wobble. You may also want to dive into the steering box. Reach out to gtr1999, I am sure he would guide you on how to do a diagnosis of the box.

Check your Idler arm, also rebleed your front brakes. I cannot count the number of times it took me before I finally got all the air out of my Wilwoods. T
