Default Under car Exhaust

What kind of clearance are you guys getting? I'm switching from side exhaust and that has enough clearance. I have a 1971 383, I would like to get long tub headers too.

Very little clearance. I'm n the middle of a 355 rebuild on my '70 and am upgrading to headers, but chose mid-length with 2.5" collectors after I pull everything out, just to keep the flanges from being under the car. The original down pipes had some scuffs and small flat spots from scraping over things in the past. I'll put on mid-length and have 2.5" pipes bent and tucked up underneath.

If you get the pipes to go inside the camber bolts you will get the max clearance.

Do you have full length headers? Your clearance is good.

That is great clearance. What is the tube and collector diameter? Hedman part number please?

I used these https://www.summitracing.com/parts/h...model/corvette

But I did have them professionally coated.

For me...
One project will have side headers, but 2nd one will go underneath.
Biggest issue I see is the rear leaf style spring.
I am doing coilovers on the first project and I think I'll go that route on 2nd one also.
Just have to clear the adjustable struts and not worry about the heat affecting or hitting the spring.

Where did you get/buy the intermediate pipes with the flattened/stock section that goes under the differential?
