I am trying to sell my vette.
1976 Corvette Stingray L-48
83000 original miles. Numbers matching. Previous owner swapped out the Intake manifold/carb, distributor, valve covers (I have the originals), radiator (due to leaking) and a/c compressor (it is a pancake style now.)
Other than some other small repairs (headlight vacuum canisters), brake calipers... it is original.
It has a few issues; The gas gauge does not work, the wipers are not working, transmission has a small leak, clock does not work.
The car is not in mint condition by any means, but it has been garaged by both myself and the previous owner always.
Not sure what else to say about it. I am curious what it is worth. Please help put a number on it if possible.
If additional photos are needed please let me know.
Probably depends what part of the country you are in too, I just paid $12.5k for similar condition 75 coupe but manual transmission and detailed engine and underside.
From the shopping I did I would say easily worth $10-13k.
That range is good. I started it out at $11,500 and am now down to $10,900 which is my bottom that I want to go to.
Thank you for that input.
I am also curious to know what I can fix without decreasing the value. For example, I want to fix the wipers, but if I have to replace something like the wiper motor, how bad will it be to use one from the auto parts store?
I was going to say about 11.5. I think you are in the right neighborhood. I will say this, spring is a good season to sell a Corvette, and prices tend to creep up as summer approaches. People love to cruise the beaches in a Corvette with the top down or T-Tops off.
Good Luck

In my opinion it depends on how fast you want to sell it. It looks nice but there are many for sale. If you don't want it to take forever I would say a little under $10,000. I think $9,500 would sell it fairly quick if you don't have frame or birdcage rust issues. I don't want to be harsh but there are many '74-77 cars on Craigslist etc. and you have people looking at a lot of them. Put an ad on our forum in the for sale section. It does look nice. Good luck!
IMHO, Most of the buyers of this car will be happy that stuff works and probably would not worry about the fact that it was fixed with auto store parts. Most buyers of your car will have no knowledge or concern of the orginality of repair parts.
