Was on Craigslist and this ad for a base model 25th anniversary 1978 with a custom imsa Daytona body kit... anyone have a back story on these? I know the Greenwood corvette story but never saw a pic of this one before https://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee...970177721.html

35k for that!? Just because they made a VERY poor decision, doesn't mean they will get their money back. They would have to give it away just so the new owner could make it right again.
To be fair, with larger, more appropriate wheels and tires, it would look much better. The rear spoiler looks overdone and some headlight covers (with some black in the openings) would help. But 35K seems like someone wants to recap all their investment and then some.

This looks to me like the greenwood daytona kit ecklers sold, in other words just another custom, this style of wide body was a greenwood idea eckler refined it into a street version, the Daytona wide body was never as popular as ecklers other wide body kits and few were sold but rare its not,
I see these pop up from time to time some with silly asking prices but i see here about 10-12k in custom project if someone really fell in love, doesnt sound like any of you guys did,
In the remote chance the body kit was actually from greenwood and installed at his shop with the correct documentation then it might be worth more but i still do not see 35k and i believe this is an ecklers kit.
1980 Greenwood Daytona Turbo. Not my taste, but I think the Greenwood factory built ones looked a little better. Maybe it's the BBS wheels and big rubber?
