Default Steering column disassembly
trying to tear column down on my 74 non tilt column to get to the turn signal switch that's broken. Removed the aftermarket wheel PO installed and this is where I'm at now. How do I get this extender off to get at the column guys underneath ?

Figured out I needed a steering wheel puller and was able to get this off. Of course now I need a lock plate remover. Always a tool I don't own !

Most autoparts stores have a rental program going. They should have one.

and once you get below the hub you'll see the shaft has a retaining ring that you'll need to remove as well.
