lectric limited S E HEI conversion
SO has any one used the lectric limited Electronic Ignition conversion. (Editted to correct that its not HEI).I've looked at a lot of posts about the Pertronix and a few problems with their coils. I do like the fact that I can throw and extra coil, condensor and points in a box and leave it in the vette as an unnecessary back up. I was looking at coils and the breakerless.com website says that any coil with a minimum 1.2 primary resistance will work. So which coils are you guys using and is the AC delco unit now a cheap chinese knockoff and should I go with an Accel coil or something similar.

Not sure what year car you have, I have just did this in my 70 and used the original coil, it ran but since it's winter here not sure how it will run on the road. Ron

The car is a 68. The motor is a 72 LT1, the distributor in it going to be a 70 LT1 distributor, new to me. I dont have a coil yet. The system is on sale at Ecklers for $127. I was looking at a blue max coil at summit racing

I have the breakerless SE (stealth) from Lectric Limited and use it on my stock 1968. I liked the feature of the one wire only so it looks stock from the outside, and the Hall triggering effect for plenty of coil saturation. It works fine but it's not for an HEI distributor. I paid about $160 for mine, and when I screwed up while installing it a second time, I bent one of the specialty screws, and they sent me a new one no charge. It's easy to install, I just made a bonehead mistake rotating the distributor with the starter, and that screw not fully in at the time got bent.

thats good to know. Thats the one I'm going to. It does eliminate the points so I guess I should have labeled it Electronic ignition. Just bought the stock US made OEM one from Ecklers, on sale for $12.

I have no input on your ignition parts for your car, however, I do have an opinion about Lectric Limited. I've ordered 2 separate harnesses from them. I'm very impressed with the quality of what they do. Almost all of the Corvette parts houses sell their harnesses, so...I don't know who makes the ignition, or if they do it themselves. Give'em a call and find out?

I've been running the Lectric Limited Ignition in my 1970 L-46 for about 5 years and love it with no issues. For a coil I'm running an Accel 8140 Superstock, which was in the car when I bought it and I have no reason to change it for anything else. The coil is yellow, but you can't see it with the distributor shielding in place.
