Default Hood Question

So I've been looking at hoods for my 72. I want a press molded long style hood to eliminate the wiper door. Immediate thoughts went to a 73 hood of course but I don't know that I want the cowl induction setup. I noticed that eckler's has the 77-79 hood for $600..supposedly press molded, but sounds cheap for a true press molded hood to me. Could be wrong though. So my questions are, will this 77-79 hood fit my 72? Is the eckler hood of quality? All of their other hoods that are in this price range are hand rolled fiberglass, so I have my suspicions.

Thanks,
-Matt

When using a long hood on a 68-72 there is a special made one to match the rear corners, ecklers used to sell them,...for tech on ecklers fiberglass skip email or calling them, they
are like a pep boys now, call stinger fiberglass in Titusville, they make lots of ecklers glass,

People do fender or hood bodywork to make 73-82 hoods fit 68-72

Thanks I'll give them a call tomorrow. What I really want is a long style LT-1 hood. But I don't know of one in existence. Would I be crazy to think the guys that make the eckler's glass could custom make one for me?

I cant say what arnie of stinger will or will not do, worth an ask,

Now defunct vanacors sold the long stock bb/lt1 hood, it was nice looking,

Not a lot to choose from in aftermarket hoods, l88, twin turbo, cowl, motion phase, daytona and stinger

I have a long style BB/LT-1 hood installed by the PO of my 68 convert. Not sure who was the vendor- no tag or label anywhere on it. Fits pretty well for an aftermarket part.

Perhaps post some pics...its a very sought after hood some glass house should jump on producing,
I am sure vanacors wasnt the only place that made them just the only one i knew off, there were also a few that made it raised in the back like the l88

Not without work. The latch hardware will not be the same as your car and, as Bats points out, you'll have a mismatch with the fender top trim.
