Welcome to the '75 soft top club. It's already beautiful and will only get better. I don't know what the prices of replacement soft tops are these days but the last time I replaced mine it was pretty reasonable. Have fun.

Congratulations on rescuing the 75 Vert! I need to rescue my 75 Vert from the body shop it's been held hostage in for almost 3 years. This is the last photo of it still in my possession.

3 years? How do you sleep at night....that car is gorgeous!!! I grew up in body shops in the '50's/early '60's, and one thing I never understood was why the car's windows were left rolled down while they were in the shop. Bondo dust among other crap would get into every crevice of the interior.
Get that car back.

Thanks for the kind words. I purchased an inexpensive black vinyl top for it and one of the best interior guys in the valley is installing it as soon as the next two weeks. I struggled with going back to the original white top but in the interim have chosen black as I believe it matches the overall theme of the car and honestly, a nice fresh crisp white top will clash with the overall rattiness (is that even a word?) of my car.
Trust me, when it comes time to go deep into the restoration I will return to the white top. For the next while though it'll wear its patina proudly. it will also wear a bad attitude!

Three years? Mine went from the trailer, then straight into the garage. It's only been 4 months and I'm getting antsy to drive it farther than from the front of the garage to the back. By the way, your Vette was beautiful before heading off to the body shop.

It's been tough. I know the guy and helped him before on his Harley. I was just going to do a new front bumper but he wanted to redo the whole car and said he would do it for a very low price. I'm back to just wanting to get the front bumper done so I can put the car back together.

Go pick up your car have someone else do the bumper
btdt with 2 different shops same car...still had to finish myself;as time went by more parts started missing. Kicker is both places were paid top dollar think most body guys are scam artists that leased a workspace

I feel for you. when I had my first C3 when I was a kid I went to a "trusted" mechanic for a cam change. That turned into an engine rebuild after he somehow spun a bearing on the test drive. How that was my fault I don't know but I was young and gullible.
Six months later I was still without my coupe. In the end, I turned into a bigger jerk than him and finally got the car back. When I finally retrieved the car one of his excuses was that I would have gotten the car back sooner but he couldn't find the hood bolts!
So I threw the hood in our old farm truck and drove the car home.

Congrats and good luck with your build. I have had my '75 for ten years. While not a daily driver, we do enjoy the weekend cruise.

Nice overview of your project mkdesign, after looking at your thread today i was unaware of all the 75 roadster fans out their, and happy to be part of the fan group, as i picked up a 75 ragtop this past oct, ( ( i had a 68 roadster, and that planted the bug, ) ) i now know its one of "270" shipped to canada!!! but i imported it back to the states, it was out of service for only 3 or so years, but taking my time to shine it up,,, where in canada are you, im headed back their next month, PM me any time, would love to chat with you,,,,,,,,,,,teddy

Hi Teddy. I'm over close to the west coast in the Okanagan Valley. Beautiful wine and lake country so there are some nice drives to be had.
The cool thing about owning a car that was imported into Canada when new is that there is a way to track the options to supplement the build sheet as well as build date and dealer destination through Vehicle Vintage Services.

Another beautiful Vette. I have always been a fan of the 74/75 roadsters.
I had a 75 coupe when I was a kid and later on a 1980 ragtop conversion. I missed them both for different reasons but always told myself that if I had the opportunity to get another C3 I would. Then this 75 Roadster came up that needed rescuing and I could't resist.
The pictures attached show my past Vettes that spurred me on to get the combination of both.

October seems to be the popular month to buy a 75 rag top,, also, Red seems to be the popular color too,,,I'm noticing " VERT " seems to be the current term, I was brought up calling them Roadster, is it my gray hair or are their other reasons I don't see that term much??? Thoughts??? The Vette guys I was with eather had a Coupe or a Roadster ,,

In my case the were referred to as either t-roofs or coupes and roadsters or convertibles. 'Verts as well more so in written form. But mostly, the blanket words for all of them have been "money pits".
Whether I spent money on the next go fast trick for my white '75 or necessary upkeep after regularly bagging on my red '80, and now the resurrection of my lost '75 (I shudder) they keep the money flowing pretty well. It's a sickness I tell ya!
