1981 Interior door panels

1981 Interior door panels

Both of my interior door panels are loose at the bottom. I thought I read somewhere that there are should be clips at the bottom. Can someone confirm this? I have a 1981 C3. Also I do know these are not original panels.

I don't think so. My 79 door panels which as far as I know are identical to 81 door panels had no clips, only a couple of screws holding them in at the bottom.

I believe the 68-77 door panels had clips.

where abouts do the screws go in on the bottom? how many? I do not see where they would go in at. I do have the panels off at this time. Thank you for your reply.

You can see one in the lower right part of the door panel in the picture below. The other screw is just inside the pocket at the front bottom part of the door panel.

I'm probably going to buy some aftermarket door panels as well and I'm not sure how to locate the holes for the screws which probably aren't there for the aftermarket door panels.

The picture below shows all the attachment screws. For some reason I'm not seeing the picture posted above by Priya (anybody have a clue why?).

When you buy the aftermarket panels, just be careful when cutting out the holes for the lock and door release lever. Measure 6 times, cut once, and cut less than you think you need to. I f'd one years ago because the knife went too far by an eighth of an inch and it looked horrible to me anyways.
