Default Timing

What would be a good starting point for setting the initial timing on a small block 350 with a cam with 420-443 lift @050 at 204 214 specs. I'm guessing somewhere around 10 to 12 degrees without vacuum.

Not a bad starting point but more critical is total timing and having it all in by the latest 3000 rpm. You want a total of about 34 to 36 degrees all in by 3000 rpm. Initial timing is only relevant when you are at a stop light or idling. Once you get rolling the timing curve and when it comes in is important. If you don't know all this initial timing is just to set idle.

It appears to be 35 degrees at around 3000 rpms.
