CF Nation,
I'm in the middle of restoring my hardtop and I can't get the trim to budge. I have tried many tools including the arrow tool I saw in so many videos and still no luck!
Can someone share their knowledge and experience so I can begin ripping the vinyl off...Please!!

Can anyone help me get past the trim...it's holding me up now!!
The more I try to get the trim off the more I think it's held in by the sealant. I say this because I can't seem to visually or feel a clip as I slide my tool beneath the trim. My tool comes out black with sealant residue which makes me wonder?
I'm hoping someone who has done a top before responds, if not I'm going to search out an auto body shop and solicit their help.
The trim around the glass on my hardtop is held on with clips. At some point, the glass was probably sealed using black caulking or windshield sealant.

The clips were just like the windshield trim clips and the moldings snapped into place over top of them. Possibly someone put some glue on there to either stop the window from leaking or to retain the trim. You use a standard window clip tool to remove the trim.

Here is the installation picture from the AIM.
Here is what the clips actually look like:
Thank you for the information...I don't have that tool so that is where I will start!!
