Default Refinishing Headlight Bezels

Hi All,
New C3 owner here, I just bought a 69 C3 that was missing the headlight bezels. I picked up a decent original pot metal set that still has the original paint. What is the best way to strip the paint on these to prepare them for new paint?
Thanks in advance
Rich

Not bezel specific but,a lot of people media blast. I am finding that I like the results using aircraft stripper on painted parts.

Any of the commercial paint strippers will work. Push come to shove, brake fluid will eat paint.

I though media blasting may be too harsh for pot metal and leave a rough finish. The stripper won't eat into the pot metal?

I'd just blast them and paint them using a acid etching primer. Once the primer is dry I'd scuff and shoot them with the correct color.

Media blasting would depend on what the media is... Glass bead won't hurt the pot metal, black beauty will leave it a bit coarse. I'd opt for the glass beading, but either will work.

While they are apart it's a great time to review the pivot bushings which can have a lot of a wobble effect which could lead to paint chipping and bad gaps. I replaced the white plastic ball in all for a great fit still using the original housings. The new housings are very different.
A forum member did them for me in his shop.
