Im considering buying this 77 C3 with a non-numbers matching 383 stroker built by the seller 4 years ago, Muncie 4 speed, and 4" side pipes. Seller says it needs new paint as well as finishing changing the interior over to blue, although I'm not crazy about the blue and in a perfect world I would paint the car red and change the interior accordingly, which I know nothing about. I'm looking for a toy/project for the summer that I could flip and make a few bucks on. Seller is asking $7500. Should I buy, walk away, or run? Any advice would be appreciated
As an object to flip and profit in a very short term I suggest that you run. A decent paint job alone will put you under water. There are many one-year-only interior parts in a '77 that will cause surprising expensense if they need to be replaced.
As a toy to use and enjoy? First ask yourself why it is being sold at a "cheap" price considering the modifications made by the present owner.
