Default Help Identifying a squeak

I recently started hearing a squeak while driving my 70. I don't know how long it has been going on, though, because it is much harder to hear with the windows up.

Anyway, here are the symptoms...
  • It correlates with wheel speed
  • It only happens when the engine is under load (accelerating or just at high rpm)
  • It only happens when in gear (so I can't find it on the lift)

I'm hoping that the squeak is obvious to someone, but any and all ideas as to where it is coming from are appreciated.

there are so many sources of squeeks, is it front the front or the rear?
did you inspect the driveshaft unjoints for signs of rust?
did you inspect the halfshaft ujoints for signs of rust?
did you check front and rear wheel bearing play?

It sounds like it's coming from the front, but that could just be that the sound is coming through the window.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll definitely try to take a look at the ujoints and wheel bearings early this week, but I would think that noises from those sources would occur regardless of engine load
