Vin # ???
what is this off of. Thanks
"P9C24A" is the date code, and translates as a 69 model year Muncie 4 speed, M-20, assembled on March 24, 1969. "P" is a Muncie 4 speed, "9" is the model year, "C" is March, "24" is the day of the month and "A" is an M-20 (B for M-21 & C for M-22).
The VIN appears to be for a 69 Camaro built at Norwood OH. "1" is Chevrolet, "9" is the 69 model year, "N" is Norwood, OH, "630055" is the production sequence number, or VIN. The only thing I'm not sure of is the "6" in the VIN. That's a control number that remained the same for all cars during the model year, and my info shows that it should be a "5" for 69 Camaros, not a "6"? Norwood built both Camaros and Firebirds, but if it was a Firebird trans, the first digit would be a "2" for Pontiac, not a "1".
So it appears that you have a 1969 wide ratio Muncie 4 speed in your 66, likely out of a 69 Camaro.
My 68 has a P0C13B 10N52211 4sp Muncie and I have been thinking it came out of a p/u truck.
I got the 1970 March 13, close ratio part but could not figure out the "N" source, so that is Norwood and likely a Camaro.
Thanks again!
