Default Question about 69 big block smog system....

I am looking at picture of 69 big block smog system. On some of the pictures I notice the diverter valve has a bracket between it and the smog pump. The bracket slightly turns the diverter valve about 30 degrees.

On the other hand, I see some without the bracket. In that case, it mounts similar to a 68 diverter valve.

Was this a variation or what?

Opinions out there and knowledge?

Tri-power cars had the adapter that turned the angle of the diverter valve. It was for clearance purposes. Single carburetor cars didn't need it.

Default Thanks

I suspected that was the case. Thanks for the fast feedback. Terry
